Early Learning Centre (Ages 3-5)

We call the Preschool, Al Zahra Kingdom in honour of Fatima Al Zahra (as) who holds the role as the traditional protector of children. Al Zahra Kingdom is a unique Early Learning Centre which offers quality care and education for children aged 3-6. We offer a welcoming and safe learning environment where children have the opportunity to grow and reach their potential in an enjoyable, stimulating and nurturing atmosphere.

Al Zahra College is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Candidate School where the Primary Years Program (PYP) as well as the Early Years learning framework underpins our curriculum. Our program is designed to give your child multiple opportunities to learn, discover and make decisions. We understand that young learners are intelligent, resourceful and creative individuals who interact through play to make meaning of the world. At Al Zahra College your child will benefit from continuity in their education as they build the foundations to successfully become active, compassionate, lifelong learners within the wider community.

Children, families and staff at Al Zahra Kingdom are respected and valued for their unique individual qualities and the beliefs that form each family’s diverse cultures. Islamic values are a key aspect of our teaching and learning process and our educators encourage these values to inspire respect, harmony and to give your child the best possible start in life.

Applications for Admission

To apply for a place at Al Zahra Kingdom for your child, you must submit a completed and signed expression of interest form. A separate form must be completed for each child. Applications for admission will be accepted only after the birth of the child. Applications for admission will only be processed once we receive a fully completed application form signed by a parent/guardian. The Nominated Supervisor will confirm receipt of the application and your child will be placed on the waiting list for the nominated year of entry. Acceptance of an application does not guarantee a place at the College for your child. 

To be eligible for enrolment, your child must be three years old by 30 April in the year of entry. Children may be enrolled to commence in the year of entry if they have reached the age of three by the Kingdom starting date of the calendar year. Those turning three after the start date and before 30 April will still be considered for a place. Families with children in this age bracket will be expected to pay the daily fees to hold their place up until their child can commence on or after their third birthday. 

There is no automatic progression from Al Zahra Kingdom to Kindergarten at Al Zahra College. Application for admission into Kindergarten involves a separate application process. If you would like to apply for a place in Kindergarten as well, please indicate this on the application form.
