Welcome to Al Zahra College.
Al Zahra College is an IB (International Baccalaureate) World School which offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). Established in 1998, the College provides an alternative educational option for the growing Muslim community in Australia, and caters for students from Preschool to Year 12. The motto of the College, ‘Faith, Knowledge, Wisdom’ promotes academic excellence and quality of learning in all areas of the curriculum. Al Zahra College also meets the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) requirements in all Key Learning Areas, in addition to offering Islamic studies and Arabic language. Islamic principles and IB educational philosophy are the foundations of Al Zahra College, and this has facilitated a cooperative and harmonious learning environment, where the common ideals of internationalism, tolerance and understanding are paramount.
The values of the College have created an educational environment where students develop awareness, respect for, and pride in their unique cultural identities. The students learn to develop intercultural understanding and respect for other people with their differences. This in turn enables them to flourish within the cultural diversity of multicultural Australia and equips them for effective participation, as Australian citizens, in the broader global community.
